Conversation facilitated by Elizabeth Schiemer
In this session Elizabeth along with Jessica Fleming will look at the importance of social engagement and how events like labyrinth walks and gatherings (face to face and online) support our physical and psychological well-being in the face of continuing isolation.
A very pertinent topic as loneliness is on the rise and a lack of human connection can be quite harmful to your health. Denied opportunity to connect has put our health at risk because it lowers our immune system
In this discussion we will ask why does the labyrinth community and face to face interaction build healthy connections that can lower levels of anxiety and depression, raise self-esteem and offer meaning and purpose to our lives? How are social strengths developed through group sharing and interactions? Is there healing power just being seen, heard and walking together at a gathering?
