We have a simple structure - a volunteer Council Circle elected by members and a group of volunteers known as Regional Representatives who help coordinate activities in their local area. Our past Council carriers are asked to join our Wisdom Keepers, so that their wisdom is not lost, and we can ask advice at any time.

Christina Rowntree
Chair I first met the labyrinth in 2003 on Boonwurrung Country where Robin and Bronwyn Pryor had built a Chartres labyrinth in their garden with a view over Bass Strait. It was a pivotal experience that set me on the path of labyrinth walking. I joined ALN at its inception. I trained as a facilitator with Lauren Artress, founder of Veriditas. In 2017, I attended a Design and Construction course with Lars Howlett in Sydney, who gave me confidence to create ephemeral labyrinths in many community contexts and in my work with Uniting Church in Australia (UCA). Over the past 20 years I have facilitated labyrinth walks, workshops and events with children and adults, at festivals, community events, and at ALN gatherings. A highlight was working with others to offer walks for the Parliament of the World’s Religions in 2009. I’m one of four Australian trainers offering Veriditas-accredited labyrinth facilitator training. I juggle family care with my work as Ministry Coordinator with Sophia’s Spring, an eco-feminist faith community of the UCA. I offer my skills and passion on Council, to encourage the Australian labyrinth community, building on the good work of the past, bringing fresh vision and encouraging local initiatives. Quanita Chivers
Treasurer Quanita specialises in delivery SAP Finance Transformations. She has worked across a number of sectors playing various roles within financial transformation programs including establishing functional requirements, process mapping, testing and defect rectification facilitation and other business readiness activities. She has a wealth of experience in driving high performance cultures, bringing an analytical and collaborative approach to ensure the delivery of strategic change programs. Ruth Boydell

Bronwyn Greive
Vice-Chair Bronwyn describes some of the threads that have made or make up her life: • As an exhibiting artist, mother, grandmother, nurse, ex pastor, with a long involvement in community development and community education. • Training and passions in Choice Theory, labyrinths (Veriditas at Chartres 2009), the enneagram, an author, art and nature, and a PhD in Natural History Illustration which looked at places of environmental significance in the lower Hunter Valley. • After 30 years of dreaming, saying “One day, one day…” she and Max now have Fosterton Retreat, where so many aspects of their lives and beliefs swirl together as they provide accommodation plus retreats for: Self Enrichment & Well-Being, Art, Connection to Nature, Spiritual Growth and Staff Development. • Max has created 4 labyrinths on the property and handheld ones in each accommodation. • Along with a passion about labyrinths in healing, meditation, contemplation, mental health, prayer and all kinds of personal growth, she brings some dreams about knowledge of and increased use of labyrinths in society. • She can be a good sounding board and often see where things connect, and has a track record of working with others, on 'committees' or in community. Linda Blyth
Secretary I live on Wardandi Noongar land Bunbury West Australia. I joined ALN Council as an Ordinary member in April 2024, then have held Secretary role since 2025. Im a member of Labyrinths in Educational Settings Group and am WA Regional Rep for The Labyrinth Society. I first came upon a labyrinth in an Oxford churchyard in UK, and walked a temporary labyrinth during Holy Week at St Augustine's Uniting Church in Bunbury. In 2017, I joined fellow health colleagues on Committee of Management of Projects of Heart & Soul WA Inc to build Bunbury Garden Labyrinth. I took the baton as Chair from co-founder Nari Jones during the implementation phase and official opening in Sept 2020. Since then I've led Friends of Bunbury Garden Labyrinth and moderate our social media pages. I've worked for 40 years as an Occupational Therapist and Registered Music Therapist in diverse health settings. My partner John has cognitive disabilities, so I balance being his carer while working as a therapist supporting foster families and their children. I am Mum, Aunt, and Step-Mum to six adult kids, and Step-Nanna to John's grandson. I grew up in the Methodist-Uniting Church and continue to worship at Bunbury Uniting Church and play clarinet in the church band. The labyrinth, ocean, and my faith and art practice offer space for reflection and solace through twists & turns of life. Elizabeth Schiemer
Ordinary Member Elizabeth (Liz) holds role of ALN Regional Representative for the Hunter Region, NSW, and is co-moderator of Australian Labyrinth Network Facebook page. She held the position of ALN Chair in 2021 and provided off-council support for the 2025 Council, offering immense networking skills to ALN. She is aiming to gather an interest group to educate and encourage the use of labyrinths as a tool for mental and spiritual wellbeing throughout the Hunter Region. Rose Isbell
