facilitated by Elizabeth Schiemer
Elizabeth has studied meditation techniques with Ian Gawler, and read and listened to Thich Nhat Hanh, and Jon Kabat-Zin. She had previously struggled with visualisation techniques and then discovered Lauren Artress’s Walking the Sacred Path and it took her down the labyrinth rabbit hole.
She says "The psychological insight in the Greek mythological story of Theseus slaying the Minotaur in the labyrinth of King Minos of Crete seems particularly relevant today."
Liz's journey has lead her to learn about the vestibular labyrinth, the cochlea (a hollow, spiral-shaped bone found in the inner ear that plays a key role in the sense of hearing ), the vagus nerve and about the effects of meditation on our chromosomal telomeres which control our vitality and ageing of our cells. These topics will be the focus of her presentation. Elizabeth believes that labyrinth walking can bring order to the chaos in our minds because it is so much more than "just" a walking meditation.
A special mystery guest will join Elizabeth in exploring this topic.
